Written By : Allen Lockington Lautoka. Do you remember in the past our situation was about political parties based on race and pitching themselves against each other.
There was a lot of mudslinging, foot in the mouth incidents, every now and then a government vehicle would be spotted transporting family members or parked outside a night club at 1 am.
But life went on and it was good. Tourists were happy anyone could travel to New Zealand or Australia without fear.
Army personnel were confined to travelling to the Middle East to do their duty.
I used to love watching the parliamentary televised debates to learn some new words and also to catch up on what was going on with nation building.
Today, we are trying to eradicate corruption and in the process our roads are getting bad.
Five star tourists will not come because their travel insurance will not cover them. Many small businesses have had to close down and skilled workers are leaving.
I would love to know how much the people of Fiji have gained as opposed to the visible losses.
In other words has there been any profit (since the takeover)?
