Why play Naqelevuki when he is with an injury? Tabua should have noticed that Naqelevuki’s aggressive style of play never materialised yet Tabua kept him on the field for most of the match.
Captain Mosese Rauluni played one of his worst game for Fiji making wrong options and kicked aimlessly. He was responsible for Australia’s first try.
Fullback Mara should be told that he has other players on the field and top stop trying to be a star.
Why were the Fijians playing the first half in the forwards and not running the ball against Australia? Here we have the Aussies playing the Fiji-style of rugby and Fiji playing powerhouse rugby and getting nowhere.
Fiji players are very poor in retaining the ball during forward play and yet they are instructed to play it in the forwards against the greatest ball scavengers in rugby Australia.
There was also the poor refereeing. A couple of Aussie tries were from forward passes. The hosts were also holding back Fiji’s players after the scrums stopping them from getting to breakdowns quicker.Rauluni being captain should have noticed this and brought it to the referee’s attention.
After that performance the Flying Fijians are still a long way from the tier one rugby nations. The FRU should get rid of the Aussie connection in the team because it does not want them. What are we doing with them? Why are our key players getting injured during training?
