It is therefore uplifting to know that the “EU rejects Zimbabwe govt” (ABC 2/7) because it has been doing grave wrongs against its own people. After unleashing state sponsored terror against the democratic opposition in the country a sham election was held to put the dictator Robert Mugabe back in power.
It’s way past high time such a rogue government is rejected. In today’s world the only government that is to be recognised as legitimate must be based on the will of the people.
The Mugabe regime isn’t. It is therefore right to reject it outright. That’s what the people of Zimbabwe would want the rest of humanity to do for them.
