The dust of the braves rest in their places
The voices of laments wake up space
Vultures pick up what is left
And depart to their own
Nabua is left to stand alone

No one gave him and outside chance
Someone forgot to announce his name
They said red when it was maroon
And then their laughter rose to a boom
Whence they came was asked
Does anyone know?
They whispered the answer He came alone

It was easy to push him out of stand apart
They blamed his turf
And raked up his past
A child of squatters
And illegal settlements
Of dark alleys and single parents
In solitude he roams and he roams alone.

Perplexed they queried and then asked
Does he have the guts?
This boy in gold and crimson red
Does he have enough inside to make the stand?

The world was hushed as to the arena he marched
The world stood still as all they watched
From the unborn to the young and the old
Mesmerized, electrified as the Scenes unfold
With united voices their praises arose
He reigns alone.

Shed not your tears and spare your sorrow
The day shall rise to offer tomorrow
Allow space in the homes of the brave
In the fields of man he’ll carve his name
You go ahead you can tell the world
I Am Nabua, I Stand Alone.
