Written By : Vani Veikoso Turkey. Only in Fiji – but unfortunately for the ordinary Fiji taxpayers and citizens, this blatant abuse of monies to pay Mr. Bainimarama and his officers who use guns to rob them of their government, their rights and their livelihoods is the last straw our citizens have to put up with.
Who else on God’s earth and in our tiny, under-developed nation of Fiji have had the liberty to get a payout for leave that dates back for 30 years? And why should he be paid for something that dates back to 1978, as his reasons for not taking his leave back then was his alone and not any current taxpaying citizens?
So, if he had not been interim PM, would he still have got this payout? We think not. And to say that the computation was based on a basic salary of $263.77, was that his basic salary back in 1978?
Mr Bainimarama as we are seeing now is just a plain blood-sucking individual who staged this coup for his own benefit.
While he gets a payout that is back dated to 1978, current civil servants get a pay-cut, senior government officials get demoted or sacked, and ordinary citizens struggle to pay bus fares, school fees and daily living expenses.
In addition, the military should stop brainwashing us in saying that no one can do Mr. Bainimarama’s job. Our ability to do a job is all dispensable, from the President to the street-cleaner and all the ones in between. And that goes for Mr. Bainimarama as well. He is not the only person in Fiji who can do the job he was assigned to. The problem with Mr. Bainimarama is he is a greedy and selfish who is trying to do everything at his own accord and is now trying to get compensation for something no law-abiding citizens of Fiji asked him to do.
If Colonel Aziz cannot ask Mr. Bainimarama to go on leave, we the ordinary citizens and friends of Fiji are asking him to go before he bleeds us dry of the meagre finances we already have and the coup-land image we have now obtained, no thanks to the likes of Mr. Bainimarama and his supporters.
