Written By : Venu Singh Suva . The no-drop policy or zero tolerance policy adopted by the Police and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is laudable.
I fully support this stance. However, whether this policy is actually being universally applied leaves a lot to be desired.
Last year, there was a case involving a very senior officer at the Office of the DPP who was stabbed by his wife as he was preparing to take a trip overseas.
This case was reported in the media and that is how the public was made aware of this incident. Since then has anything happened? I am reliably informed the case has been dropped.
