Written By : Assish Vinay Prasad. Suva. I refer to Dr Sahu Khan’s interview (FS 24/12).
To maintain power he comes up with a lot of jargon. He seems to be desperate to remain in power.
Firstly, he is talking about records attained by past presidents. There were hardly any quality national games during his 23 years in office.
To date we have never qualified for any world cup in any age group. The Tongan women’s team is better ranked than our women.
We beat NZ in a “dead game” but he calls it achievement. NZ has already then qualified from Oceania.
If he has Fiji at heart, he would not have abandoned his appointment in Wales in 2004 and let another lawyer represents Fiji FA.
He adds he does not get a single cent from Fiji FA. He and his daughter are the lawyers for Fiji FA and they are paid for their services. It’s in the annual report.
He is harping about Roy Krishna’s contract, how many players have ventured overseas to Australia, Asia or even Europe under his leadership.
And which FIFA statute mentions a specific time frame for a presidential nomination to be filed? On which regulation did he conduct the 2005 election? The 2005 elections should be investigated by independent people.
He was also instrumental in removing the vote of no confidence clause from the constitution. Isn’t he breaching FIFA’s constitution?
