Teresia Titilia, 36, of Levuka gave birth to a health baby boy at 1am on New Year’s Day.
Baby Joe Vueti opened his eyes to the world in early hours of the New Year weighing 4.1kg.
Teresia was happy to receive a son as her New Year’s gift and has named him after her younger brother Joe Vueti, who is a Fiji representative in weight lifting.
“This is my eighth child and I am very happy to have received a son from God,” she said.
“It’s a blessing as I wasn’t sure of what sex my baby would be, but when I gave birth this morning I was happy to find out I had a son.
“My brother had asked me earlier to name my baby after him if I had a son, and I did. I was happy that baby Joe was born. I have eight children altogether which includes four girls and four boys now that Joe is born.”
Teresia’s husband and proud dad, Tevita Simmons is from Seaqaqa, Vanua Levu and is working in Levuka. He will come to Suva this weekend to see his youngest son.
Teresia will be released on Saturday and is looking forward to being a better mother for the New Year.
