Written By : SUN FIJI NEWSROOM. Certain individuals within and outside of the country have been accused of fuelling the current impasse between the interim government and New Zealand government.
Interim Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said while there were obvious strains in relations between the regime and New Zealand and Australia, the long standing friendship that has been forged between the three countries would assist in bringing the impasse to an end. He said certain locals and some individuals from abroad have fueled the impasse. Cdre Bainimarama said it was at these times that the country needed to stand together for the progress of the nation.
“To overcome these misunderstandings we as a nation need to be treated with respect, dignity and our sovereignty and independence must remain paramount,” he added
