Written By : SUN FIJI NEWSROOM. Seaqaqa police have arrested five men who are believed to be part of a gang that raped a 12-year-old girl in a settlement in Seaqaqa last week.
This was confirmed by police liaison officer Atunaisa Sokomuri who also indicated that six rape suspects are still on the loose.
“A team of officers are the searching the six men who are also involved while the other five are in our custody,” he said.
Mr Sokomuri said the men were believed to be between the ages of 20 and 25
He said the incident occurred when one of the men invited the victim to a vacant house where the other 10 suspects were waiting.
Divisional Crime Officer Northern ASP Luke Rawalai said the matter was a very sensitive one.
He added the people behind such shameful acts would be dealt harshly.
