Written By : SUN FIJI NEWSROOM. The Nasinu Secondary School principal Tevita Koroi has been suspended over allegations that he made public comments against the interim regime, TV One News reported last night.
Attempts by the Fiji Sun to obtain comments from Mr Koroi proved futile as the mobile phone was switched off.
Mr Koroi was handed his suspension letter during the Christmas school break, without any re-dress for reply, which he told television news breached the Public Service Disciplinary measures.
Mr Koroi said the matter was now being handled by his lawyers.
He said the ministry has not only breached his right to reply to the allegations, but that it has completely misunderstood his public commentaries.
Mr Koroi is also the president of the Fijian Teachers Association.
Public Service Commission chairman Rishi Ram could not be reached for comments as well as his permanent secretary Taina Tagicakibau.
Interim Minister for Education Filipe Bole’s mobile was also diverted.
