Written By : Richard Mar. With interest I’ve followed debates on Sabbath keeping in particular the latest from L Narayan labeling A. Naigulevu’s “Lone Ranger” (FS 18/12). I do not believe that he is a Lone Ranger as there are millions of Sabbath keepers in the world.
He has a point to prove and he is doing it through authenticated evidence left behind by credited scholars and not by self-interpreting individuals.
In my view since the New Testament is not a book of law, relatively little is said about the Holy Days in the New Testament. But, then, relatively little is said about the Sabbath or any other legislation as well, especially Sunday worship which over 2 billion Christians around the globe believe in as the day of rest.
Bible Scholars understand this has pagan origins but little is ever said about it. They are simply taken for granted, thus arguments over differing religious beliefs and practices will remain a contentious issue, in particular over the religion of Christianity and Islam against Judaism.
Of interest, the two religions found and developed their religion from the Sabbath keeping religion. Why they opt to differ is a question no one knows for sure, except themselves! Therefore, for Mr Narayan using Old Testament scripture to support his New Testament doctrines will not augur well as they are two different religions with two different deities….one is Yahweh (Sabbath keeping) and the other is Jesus (Sunday Worship). The answer lies here.
