Nausori High wins second prize at oratory competition
Written By : SUN FIJI NEWSROOM. Nausori High School scooped the second prize in the Safe Motherhood Initiative Oratory Contest organized by the Ministry of Health on October 23, at Dilkusha Girls School.
This is a big achievement for a small school like Nausori High School which has come out and defeated bigger schools in the district.
The orator, Misila Tanoa of Form 501 was delighted to have won this oratory contest since this is the first time that she has participated in an oratory contest and the reward is overwhelming.
She has won herself an account at Westpac Bank amounting to $30, Certificate of Achievement and other assorted prizes from various sponsors.
The principal Premila Kumar says that “achievements at Nausori High are based on the theme for the year which is “Striving for Holistic Development”.
“We are striving to develop each child so that they become better citizens of tomorrow,” she said.
Misila Tanoa thanked the school principal Mrs Kumar and the Head of Department Languages Manhar P Kumar.
She thanked them for supporting and giving her the opportunity to take part in the competition.
Misila said the win has become a milestone achievement for her and the school.
