Written By : SUN FIJI NEWSROOM. A man has been arrested by police in relation to the Western Union robbery that happened in Suva on Wednesday.
Police Spokesman, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri, said the man was arrested yesterday morning.
The robbery occurred at the Western Union branch at the Post Fiji outlet in Suva where four masked men armed with beer bottles and knives, entered the shop and threatened the teller before stealing more than $20,000 cash.
“We have arrested a man this morning (yesterday) and we are questioning him. We hope to get a lead to the rest of the robbers from him,” Mr Sokomuri said.
The robbers (4) fled in a vehicle with registration DN182 which was found abandoned at Suva Point at 2pm on Wednesday.
