Written By : SUN FIJI NEWSROOM. Commissioner of Prisons, Brigadier General Iowane Naivalurua, says that the full achievement of the Fiji Prisons and Correctional Services will be seen in 2014.
Mr Naivalurua said this as they welcome the New Year.
He said that while a lot had been achieved since 2006 including the Yellow Ribbon Project, people had not seen everything as yet.
“What you have seen and witnessed since 2006 is just the tip of the iceberg, I see bigger and greater things,” Mr Naivalurua said.
He added that he did not see the New Year as 2010.
“I do not see 2010, 2011, 2012 or 2013. I see 2014 and there are bigger and greater things in 2014,” Mr Naivalurua said.
In order to achieve great things in 2014, he said, that services must prepare themselves.
“We can only do great things if we are right with ourselves and our families are right. We will be blessed.”
Mr Naivalurua revealed that 2009 was a challenging year but the FPCS overcame the challenges through support of the public, spouses and special friends.
“We have won lives, changed lives and the public now know what we are trying to do.
“2009 has been a challenge, some of us have gone a bit greyer, some of us now have limps, but we got the job done through the help of our guardian angles. These are people who came to our aid,” Mr Naivalurua added.
