Written By : General Editor. The emergence of the young Labasa soccer team at the 72nd Courts Inter-District Championship should indicate the abundance of untapped talents in the North.
Without any big names or overseas players, the Bal Sanju Reddy- coached side has defied all odds by booking a semifinal spot this Sunday.
This is not new to Fiji soccer.
Over the years, Labasa has produced some of the country’s top players like Anand Sami, Gordon Lee-Wai, Sam Lee Wah, Jimmy Zoing, Kasimiro Dinono, Hussein Saheb, Narend Reddy, Robin Simmons, Johnny Williams, Joeli Tadrau, Ivor Evans, Epeli Roqica, Simon Peters, Epeli Levaci, Solo Catarogo, Tevita Tukania and the list goes on and on.
Maybe, this should be food for thought for the Fiji Football Association officials in considering the North as the next site of the country’s third soccer academy.
