Written By : Mark Hines . WWE NXT has thrown up some real surprises over this all diva season, but none more so than the surprise elimination of AJ on Tuesday night.
The rookie, who has been the stand-out in-ring competitor of the entire competition, finished bottom of the poll which means that Naomi and Kaitlyn survived and go head to head in the final next week.
AJ was torn up about the elimination at the end and was fighting back the tears in an obviously non-scripted emotional speech upon departing, saying: “I’m not the supermodel or girl who went to prom.
“It is time for a Diva to represent everyone in the crowd. We need a Diva who everyone wants to hang out with. I have this my entire life.
“This will not stop me because this is not the last time you will see me. I will accomplish my dreams and the WWE Universe will see me again.”
Primo, AJ’s Pro was also devastated at the news of her exit from the competition, this despite her holding the best win-loss record at six wins and two defeats and holding the most overall challenge wins in the entire series and dominating as the most impressive in-ring wrestler.
The WWE will no doubt find a space for AJ in one of the two brands once filming for this season of NXT is completed next week.
AJ and Naomi put on an excellent match together before the elimination, the best of the season so far by two rookies, with AJ victorious thanks to her modified Octopus style submission move that his gained notoriety among fans recently.
She also was victorious in the WWE Trivia challenge, accumulating 1,300 points answering trivial WWE related questions, while Naomi only mustered 100 points, and Kaitlyn 0.
Kaitlyn’s punishment for not scoring in the challenge was to face Nikki Bella in a singles match which she lost thanks to the X-Factor by the Bella twin.
She did however manage a Challenge victory in the “Last Sumo Standing” competition defeating Naomi to take victory.
Tune in next week to WWE NXT to find out who is victorious in her quest to become the WWE’s next Diva breakout star.
