More than 290,000 visitors from Australia were recorded in the last year.
Previously New Zealanders dominated the purchase of land on Naisoso Island two to every one Australian buyer.
Over the last few months this has shifted noticeably to three Australian buyers for every one New Zealand buyer.
Mr Lowres, the managing director of Naisoso Island, said this is no doubt due to the stronger Australian economy and the value of their dollar to the Fiji dollar, making the purchase of a lot or home on Naisoso incredibly attractive.
Previously the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast have been the location of choice for Australians looking at purchasing a holiday home.
However, many are thinking outside the box and located just three-and-a-half hours from Brisbane reside this endless summer slice of paradise we know as Naisoso Island.
Mr Lowres said there is something romantic about owning a home on private a Fijian Island such as Naisoso.
However, while capturing the hearts of the people that set foot on Naisoso, it is also capturing the attention of the astute property investor.
Being 100 per cent freehold, beachfront, five minutes from the Nadi International Airport, state-of-the-art facilities, it does not take an economist to see the long-term value in becoming part of the Naisoso Island community.
