The equipment included beds, medical machines and other items to be used by the Society and the Ministry of Health.
In accepting the donation, Minister for Health Dr Neil Sharma thanked the organisation for their generous support to improve the health service delivery in Fiji.
“These donations are much needed and will go a long way to improve quality of health care,” he said.
“The health sector is one of the few pressing issues when it comes to dealing with the whole nation apart from education and security.”
Dr Sharma was grateful to Rotary New Zealand, which worked with their local counterparts in making the donation.
“This donation is helpful and useful.”
Fiji Cancer Society’s Ms Davila Toganivalu said the donation would boost the morale for cancer patients.
“We are really thankful to Rotary Suva and New Zealand for organising this. It will surely boost the confidence of patients because the world cares,” she said.
