The centre, which is situated in Vunika, is built on a hill and overlook the sea and cane fields.
It was established in June 1, 1999, to cater for youths at the grassroot level and those who wished to receive teachings from the Holy Bible.
Northern Christian Training Centre founding principal, Marion Male said in the past five years the centre was deprived of modern educational technology like computers.
“We had a few computers after the establishment of the centre but they got damaged,” Ms Male said.
“Such kind and generous acts by Westpac is the first step to a continuing relationship.
“We are grateful to Westpac for donating the computers.”
The centre accommodates 18 vocational students and 38 primary students.
“These computers will be a useful tool for our vocational students work on their projects,” Ms Male said.
As for the primary school students the centre plans to organise computer classes.
Westpac Banking Corporation Labasa branch manager, Archana Murti said they had received a request from the centre for computers to help the students with their curriculum.
“In the past the bank was providing computers to schools and this year the bank decided to help the centre,” Mrs Murti said.
“This is the only centre in Vunika, based in a rural setting, which provides vocational education to youths and school dropouts.
She advised the students to make full use of the resources available to their advantage and to take good care of the computers so that it would last for many years.
