The Minister for Education, Ambassador Filipe Bole was thankful for the kind gesture by the Indian High Commission.
The handing – over ceremony was conducted at Gurbachan Singh Tyre Centre and Industries Limited at Laucala Beach Estate this morning.
In presenting the tanks, His Excellency the Indian High Commissioner said that they are happy to assist the education sector.
“We are happy to be of assistance to the Ministry of Education. Our priority has always been the education sector.”
Mr. Iosefo Volau, the Director Asset Monitoring Unit for the ministry of education in receiving the donation expressed the ministry’s gratitude to the Indian High Commission.
“Water is not a want but a need. Many schools face this critical problem of water. Now schools can breathe a sigh of relief.”
The 134 water tanks will be distributed to 41 secondary schools and 93 primary schools in the Eastern, Northern, Central and Western Division.
