Form Seven a go for five Savusavu schools
Written By : Source: MINISTRY OF EDUCATION. Five secondary schools in Cakaudrove were given the approval by the Minister for Education Filipe Bole to begin Form Seven in 2012.
The approval was personally announced to the schools by the minister during his tour to Savusavu, Vanua Levu, recently.
The minister was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary for Education Dr Brij Lal and other senior officials of the ministry.
Schools given the approval were Napuka Secondary, Saqani High, Vaturova/Koroalau High, Navatu Secondary and St Bedes College.
“We want you to have the opportunity to make the best of education and reach the highest level of secondary education,” the minister said.
“This is part of our work aligning to the People’s Charter to make Fiji a knowledge-based society.
“With Form Seven now available in all the secondary schools in Savusavu, a good academic competition is expected in the future where secondary schools in Savusavu have to prove themselves in order to maintain their students after the Fiji School Leaving Certificate examination in Form Six,” principal education officer for Cakaudrove Mere Fisher said.
“Parents in the interior of Cakaudrove will no longer have to send their children further as Form Seven will be locally available in secondary schools in the region.”
Early this year, some schools in the country have also been given approval by the minister to begin Form Seven next year.
