Firstly, the minister formally announced the approval for Form Seven in the school and he later opened a new dormitory for the girls.
The community of Napuka, who didn’t expect a sudden approval after traditionally putting forward their request for Form Seven, were overjoyed when the Mr Bole announced it during his official address.
“The school is as old as independence and there’s no reason for it not to begin Form Seven,” the minister said.
“The Government is doing its best to help you in education by providing transport assistance, paying of school fees, issuing of free textbooks and you have no excuse but to do your best.
“I want you to go as far as you can in secondary education. We are making it easier for you by approving Form Seven.”
The minister’s presence graced the school and timing was just right for him to officially open the completed girl’s dormitory.
“We are so glad for the minister’s presence to officiate the opening of our new girls dormitory and also bring the good news for our school to begin Form Seven in 2012,” school principal Naisa Toko said.
“The new girls dormitory is built because we expect a rise in our school roll as students will automatically be enrolled for Form Three and also because of the starting of Form Seven.”
Napuka Secondary School looks forward to the commencement of Form Seven in 2012.
