Kasavu won the Labasa Muslim Sports and Social Club organised Eid Cup in Nausori last weekend.

Kasavu thrashed Seaqaqa 4-0 in the final held at the Saraswati School grounds in Nausori.

The Seaqaqa side seemed to be very tired after a difficult semifinal against the Mira Sahib led defending champions Labasa. Seaqaqa edged Labasa 2-1 in the first semifinal while the Kasavu side won 4-3 against Bemana in the second semifinal.

“This is an annual tournament we organise to raise funds for the Waila Markaz. We have been doing this for the past three years and the number of teams are growing every year,” Mohammed Sareem, the organising secretary of the tournament said.

“We can only accommodate a maximum of eight teams as we only have one day to complete the pool games.”

Nizamul Shah was named the best player of the tournament while Sheik Nadeem Khan of Seaqaqa won the best manager’s award.
