Vision Group’s motor business open soon
The fast expanding Vision Group’s venture into motor vehicle business will be formally launched in March or April.
This has been confirmed to the Fiji Sun by Vision Group chief executive P.L. Munasinghe.
He revealed that in addition to the core motor and ancillary segments, this segment would also trade in light industrial goods.
“As part of this venture, we have acquired a medium level workshop and car rental business, which would be merged into the substantial business in due course,” he said.
Mr Munasinghe highlighted that upon maturity, they anticipated to invest around $6 million in this business.
“Vision Group will continue to invest wherever it sees opportunities to expand and grow.
“Within a relatively short period of time, the number of employees in Vision Group have exceeded 1000 plus.
“Centric to the business philosophy of Vision Group is superior customer service and this will be extended across all our businesses,” he said.
In addition to this venture, Vision Group is moving fast and looking at other ventures one of which includes property development.
“We are currently in the midst of developing a 7.5 acre property at Jeruselum Road in Nabua, Suva, into an industrial park.
“This is a premier commercial development.
“Once completed, Vision Group would retain a few commercial lots for its own expansion plans and would offer the balance lots for sale,” he said.
The Group also acquired 60 per cent interest in Fiji Beach Resort and Spa Managed by Hilton in October last year.
It also plans to acquire a commercial laundry operation in Nadi as well as go into furniture manufacturing.
Vision Group is owned by four successful commercial enterprises namely RC Manubhai Group, Jacks of Fiji Group, Challenge Engineering Ltd, popularly known for its car business Automart Ltd, and Candle Investments Ltd, which is the investment arm of lawyers Parshotam and Company.
Vision Group, is the owner of Courts (Fiji) Limited among other ventures.
