The MoFo Party Band has come a long way from their Central California beginnings thrilling audiences worldwide with their music.
They will also be part of the much awaited Fiji Jazz and Blues Festival which will be held in Denarau, Nadi next week.
The band plays at small clubs and large festivals with several tours to Europe and regular regional and national touring.
MoFo Party Band member John Clifton said this would be their first performance in Fiji.
Mr Clifton said the band members were excited to meet the nice people who would take part in the Jazz Festival and to share their music with them.
“We expect that this will be an unforgettable festival with great people and ain a beautiful country,” Mr Clifton said.
“We have been to 9 countries, so we love to play our music in new places and we love to experience new things too.
“For musical influence we have many, our sound is pretty much straight ahead west coast blues, we are also very Chicago Blues oriented.
“We listen to all kind of roots music like Blues 50’s and 60’s Rhythm and Blues, some country, Rockabilly, but personally I’m really influenced by the great Blues Singers like Little Walter, Muddy Waters, Johnny Taylor, Bo Diddley James Cotton, Lightnin’ Hopkins, etc.
“It is great to share all kinds of music, I think it’s a good thing for Fiji to share music and allow others to bring their music to here.”
He said the band was looking forward to hearing the other bands on the festival that are from other countries, it will be a great adventure for us.
Sporting a retro look and exciting sound the Band pays great attention to detail, their live show is filled with energy and the music is raw and real.
