Fiji’s High Commission in Papua New Guinea is actively liaising with companies that are involved with the Papua New Guinea’s multi-billion dollar Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project with the purpose of enabling Fiji nationals to work in the project.
The PNG LNG development concept currently entails construction of Liquefied Natural Gas processing plantand associated gas treatment, storage, jetty and marine offloading facilities.
Fiji’s High Commissioner in Papua New Guinea Mr. Neomaia Tabunakawai and First Secretary Vilitati Mataitini joined other Heads of diplomatic missions in PNG to visit the LNG processing plant in Port Moresby which is currently under construction. The purpose of the visit was to update HOMs on the progress of work in the LNG project.
PNG is expected to start exporting gas in 2014.
