The Fiji Sports Council will not only upgrade the National Stadium but the drainage systems of all Council’s grounds.
These include Bidesi, Buckhurst Park in Suva,Thomson Park in Navua, Lawaqa Park in Nadroga and the Ra Sports ground.
This was confirmed yesterday by Fiji Sports Council chief executive Litiana Loabuka.
“Just like the National Stadium, our other grounds need a lot of drainage work,”Loabuka said.
“This has always been the case – as there are severe drainage issues at all our grounds and as soon as we are financially able to, we are addressing these issues.”
This week should see work on the Lawaqa Park and Thomson Park.
“We organised a rugby day last month where  Ra played Nadroga and it was a  success.
“The same concept will happen at the Holy Parish 7s tournament at Thompson Park next month.
“And we aim to get the drainage fixed before the tournament.”
