Former national rep Tama Vosuga has been appointed the Lami soccer coach for the Courts Inter-District Championship in Ba next week.
Lami Football acting president Kishaw Ram Sharma said they have what it takes to defend the premier division title.
“We have a good coach, we have the support of our officials and our community and we have been preparing tirelessly in ensuring that the trophy comes back to Lami,” Sharma said.
“Most of our players are from last year’s winning IDC squad.
“The weather has been hindering the preparations as there has been continuous rain in the capital for the past few days.”
Sharma says the aim is to win their spot in the Super Premier grade but the immediate objective is defending their title at the IDC.
“This has been our aim all along and we will try our very best to achieve it and be one of the top football teams in the country.
“Our players are doing well as they also would want to be in the Super Premier division in the near future.
“Some of our players have left for other districts but this has not affected our preparations.
Lami plays its first game against Seaqaqa on October 10.
