The flourishing restoration of Nadi Town continues with the Fiji Sun yesterday opening new Nadi offices in the Morarji Kalidas Town Centre on Main Street.
The relocation has been made to boost customer service and client accessibility.
The move has been welcomed by the Nadi Town Council and Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who commended Fiji Sun’s support for the town’s recovery from this year’s floods.
Council chief executive, Nemia Tagi, said his office remained grateful for the Fiji Sun’s character of reporting and looked forward to a continued partnership in keeping the community informed.
Fiji Sun general manager advertising/circulation, Ahara Khan told guests the Fiji Sun is the only news organisation with offices in both Nadi and Lautoka.
The Morarji Kalidas Town Centre branch has eight full-time staff in its editorial, advertising and administration departments.
The new offices include a purpose-built newsroom for the West journalists headed by West Editor Jyoti Pratibha.
Fiji Sun Publisher/CEO Peter Lomas said: “We have full faith in the future of Nadi Town.
“We are delighted to emphasise this with this new office on the main street, in partnership with Nadi stalwarts the Morarjis.”
Chamber of Commerce president Dr Ram Raju earlier expressed his optimism at the complete restoration of Nadi Town’s business district by Christmas, with a handful of empty shop spaces left to be filled.
In the meantime, the chamber would soon host a special business awards ceremony.
The details are expected to be released in the coming days.
