Nadi

Finally and finally, at long last “heartiest congratulations to the powers that be.”
Nadi International Airport, the “gateway to Fiji tourism” will see the “resurrection” of this desperately-needed “life-and-death” facility.
For the benefit of all the younger generation, such a 24/7 medical clinic existed in the pre and post independence era of this Nation.
Somewhere along the “line” through bureaucracy etc etc etc these services were discontinued.
From my slowly fading memory, this subject was agenda item in numerous Airport Facilitation meetings spanning no less then ten long frustrating years. All talk!!! All “hot air.” Records will confirm this.
In the good old days 1960’s and 1970’s I vividly remember and pay tribute to the late Dr Ken Minus, a Burmese doctor and his team for manning the health centre at Nadi International Airport  24/7 at that.
I salute the Government of the day for rekindling this centre.
Top marks!!! Take a bow.
