The Suva Magistrates Court has set November 12 as the date which former Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua party official Jale Baba must appear in court for mention on a charge of attempted larceny.

Baba, and his accomplice who is now deceased, were charged with attempted larceny and conversion for allegedly attempting to sell a Government vehicle to a farmer on March 13, 2000.

The men were acquitted of the charges in 2010, but the DPP’s Office appealed against the acquittals, which the High Court set aside and then ordered the trial to proceed before the same Magistrate.

Jale Baba will appear in court on November 12.
