The inclusion of three new schools into the Courts Inter-District Championship secondary schools competition is a worry to defending champion Central College of Lautoka.
Baulevu High School, Ba Sangam College and Labasa Muslim College are the new inclusions in the annual tournament this year.
“It won’t be easy as defending champion to defend the title especially when we have three new schools entering this year’s competition,” coach Roneel Sharma said.
“We have a lot of new players this year as most of the players from last year have left for further tertiary education.
“I believe in these players that they can deliver and will perform to their best at Govind Park next week.”
Sharma said the only possible way of defending the secondary schools title is discipline adding that this has been their guide as they marched into camp on Wednesday.
He said they also want to create history by being the first school to defend the title back to back this year.
“We also want to thank our sponsor Sigatoka Electric for being with us right from the beginning of this year and they would also sponsor us for the IDC.
“We are prepared to deliver and play the best we can to defend the title,” Sharma added.
Central College plays its first game on Thursday at 11.30am against Ba Sangam College.
