The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ratu Inoke Kubuabola yesterday visited the China Executive Leadership Academy CELAP) in Pudong, Shanghai, China.
During the visit he held discussions with Mr Jiang Haishan, Vice President of CELAP.
Speaking from Shanghai yesterday Ratu Inoke said the purpose of the visit was to seek Chinese expertise and technical assistance to develop manpower within the civil service.
“The development of dynamic, effective and responsive leadership is part of Fiji’s Charter for Change, Peace and Progress and the Roadmap,” he added.
Ratu Inoke also visited and held discussion with Mr Yang Jiemian, President of Shanghai Institute of International Relations. The Minister was accompanied by Mr Esala Teleni, Fiji’s Ambassador to China, Mr Isikeli Mataitoga, Fiji’s Ambassador to Japan, Mr Parmesh Chand, Permanent Secretary for the Public Service Commission and Mr. Esala Nayasi, Director Political and Treaties Division in Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
