Twenty four ladies have registered to participate in the JAD International Travel Services sponsored Darts National Singles tournament.
Defending champion Mere Savu will face stiff competition during this weekend’s tournament from last year’s runner-up Atelini Kanaivalu and former champion Ana Ruci.
These ladies are currently playing in the Suva/Lami League and have been winning against male counterparts.
There will also be strong competition from former holder Teresa Kaitu and her teammate Eleni Kit.
Also playing after a long lay-off will be Josie Crick and Reapi Blyde.
Tournament controller Prem Chand says “that newcomer to the game Bella Heritage is the player to watch on Saturday.
“She’s new, she’s young and she’s very enthusiastic during our Monday league games.
With the support of her mother Litia, aunt Bella and the other youngsters in her team, she will be playing this weekend with a lot of confidence.
“I am positive she will cause an upset or two during this weekend.”
