North Korea has made a commitment to support Fiji’s roadmap.
This was relayed to the Minister for Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola by Kim Yong Nam, the President of the Praesidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly in Pyongyang during his courtesy call at the Assembly.
“I wish to reaffirm to you my Government’s commitment in supporting the roadmap,” Mr Nam said.
He said his government also supported the efforts of the Fijian Government to ensure sustainable development in Fiji.
Ratu Inoke said his first visit to North Korea marked a new era of cooperation between the two countries with a view to strengthening their bilateral relations.
“Fiji’s recent inclusion in the Non-Alignment Movement (NAM) has helped Fiji’s pursuit to enhance its relations with all countries of the world, including North Korea, in line with its Look North Policy,” Ratu Inoke said.
