The Labasa Martial Arts Association is looking to work closely with the Ministry of Youth and Sports next year.
This was after the students were presented with certificates in Labasa yesterday. Martial arts instructor Ram Autar commended the efforts put in by the young participants during their three months training.
“There are plenty of hidden talents in youths today, so this self-defence sport is good for them,” he said
Autar said next year they would try to bring in girls to learn martial arts.
“We will try to organise a martial arts tournament here in the north next year.
“We will have another intake in January next year so I urge everyone to come and join.” Umesh Deo Singh a parent said looking at the circumstances in our country with the rise in criminal activities, parents should urge their kids to learn and train the self-defense sport.
