Naitasiri head coach reverend Joji Rinakama believes his men are prepared to counter Fiji Bitter Suva in today’s Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy challenge at Churchill Park.
“We have selected the team that we believe will be able to represent the Naitasiri province and who will be able to do the job against Suva,”Rev Rinakama said.
“Our boys have prepared well and we know they will perform on the day.”
Naitasiri lost to Suva during the Digicel Cup rounds and the Highlanders are aware of the challenge the Salimoni Ravouvou Suva side will provide.
“We lost to Suva in the Digicel Cup matches and we are aware what they will have for us, we respect them.”
Nakorosule, Naitasiri native Senivalati Vunibola will captain the Naitasiri rugby side.
The 39-year-old will start in his locks position with Netani Vora. Also making his return to the Highlander’s side is Waisea Daveta who will partner with Joeli Veitayaki and Dan Ligairi upfront.
The skipper with Netani Vora will be assisted by Inoke Tuisese on the blindside and Sireli Kaloucava on the open side. Former Digicel Fiji Sevens rep Dale Tonawai returns in No 8. Iliesa Matanisiga gets his break at half back teams up with Kolinio Vunaki at flyhalf.
John Stewart starts at inside centre while Jo Naisilisili at outside centre. Nacani Wakaya and Jonetani Vetau will pair on the wings and Temesia Roko at full back.
Digicel Fiji 7s team captain Lepani Botia wishes his provincial side the very best.
“To all the players, play our province with pride and all the best against Suva,” Botia said.
