The Nadi Diwali Festival of Lights is promising to be another fun filled week in the Western Division next month.
According to the organising committee, Tourism Fiji will also provide support to help showcase the festival for tourists.
The third consecutive festival is scheduled from November 10th-12th at the RB Jet Point car park in Martintar, Nadi and will include a careers expo, agriculture show and inter school dance competitions amongst other activities.
Key organiser Vineel Nand said 2012 was earmarked as the year of something different with the theme of ‘pamper your family with the sweetest Diwali ever’.
“There are 14 events this year that will include soccer, volleyball, golf, an oratory contest, drama competition and so on.
This is in an effort of including everyone, particularly non-Hindus.’’.
Mr Nand said Tourism Fiji would be providing promotional fliers and that tourists would also be part of the fanfare and transported to the venue on special buses.
With a website now up and running, Mr Nand said a special Diwali song was under composition and expected to be released before the event kicks off.
The entrance is expected to be the largest entrance erected at the Rb Jet Point, which Mr Nand said would measure 25 metres long and 40 feet in height.
