The venue for the 76th Courts Inter-District Championship is all ready to cater and host Fiji’s most awaited local football tournament.
National Football Academy general manager Paresh Kishore confirmed that all maintenance has been done and all the three grounds; Govind Park and National Academy One, Two are all set to host the tournament.
While the weather forecasts a trough of low pressure for the next few days, Kishore said they had done all major groundwork to ensure that it is not affected with rain in the coming days.
“With the help of employees of Ba Town Council, we have dug drains and cleared them out during the past few weeks to make sure that the grounds won’t be affected,” he said.
“We also did a two- hour testing for the floodlights and they are all set to go.
“The back- up generator is also ready if in case power goes off during the four- day tournament.”
All Super Premier games will be played at the Govind Park while some premier, secondary and primary schools matches will be played at the National Football Academy grounds.
The first matches kick off tomorrow at 9am with Nadogo taking on Taveuni and Lami playing Seaqaqa at the National Football Academy grounds one and two respectively.
