Defending champions Central College Lautoka is confident of retaining its title when the dust settles at Govind Park, Ba on Suunday.
Team captain Rusiate Matererega says the team aims to create history this weekend.
“The preparation is going very well and the players are dedicated to win as a team,” said Matererega.
The inclusion of the four district reps – Rusiate Matererega (Nadi), Napolioni Qase (Nadi), Setareki Delana (Nadroga) and Edward Justine (Lautoka) will certainly increase their chances.
“The focus of the team is to defend the title as this is the last tournament of the secondary school.
We just want to create history by becoming the first school to win the secondary school Courts IDC back to back.
The Nadi district forward staunchly believes that the three teams they will face; Ba Sangam College, Labasa Muslim College and Baulevu High School will not be easy.
“We will take one game at a time as all the three teams are champions of their respective zones.
We expect them to come out firing and we won’t take any team lightly in the tournament.” The Matirerega-captained side will kick off their first match against Narendra Rao Jnr-captained Ba Sangam College side at 11.30am tomorrow.
