Three unconverted tries were enough for Australia to beat Fiji 15-14 and claim top spot in Pool B of the Gold Coast leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series on Saturday night.

Fiji struck first with a converted try to Joji Ragamate before Australia replied in the corner.

Australia scored again to lead 10-7 at the break.

Alipate Ratini scored early in the second half before Australia struck with a five pointer with seconds to go to win the game.

The cup quarterfinals line-up on Sunday is: Australia-Kenya, Fiji- Samoa, Argentina-New Zealand and France-South Africa.
