Five Chinese nationals charged with gambling and operating a business without valid licences appeared at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.
Magistrate Yohan Liyange heard that two of the five accused earlier applied for bail variation as one had to travel to Australia for medical reasons.
The court has yet to grant bail.
Suva Lawyer Akuila Naco had appeared for the two and had asked for a Chinese interpreter while confirming they had return tickets for the accused.
The two will reappear in court next Thursday.
In a similar case, 16 of those accused appeared on Thursday and will have a case reviewed on October 31.
