The 2012 Courts IDC final between Ba and Suva ended in controversial circumstances, with the match being called off after Ba players disputed a goal awarded to Suva deep in extra time.

Immediately after the awarding of the goal that put Suva ahead 1-0, Ba players surrounded the referee claiming his assistant had raised his flag after Waisake Navunigasau scored via a header from a corner kick.

The Ba players then walked off the field.

After Police officers maintained control and shepherded the assistant referee to safety, Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel announced to the crowd that the match had been abandoned.

The Fiji FA Board of Control will now meet to decide on the issue.

Police vehicles were used to get match officials to safety, out of the ground.
