It was a day full of fun activities at Veiuto Primary School in Suva yesterday as the school held its annual fun day.
Chairperson of the school board Selina Kuruleca said both events were a success.
“We are aiming to raise $28, 000 or more. That is our target,” Ms Kuruleca said.
“The money would be used for the computer lab. In this new age of technology it is a must that children are introduced to the use of computers and the internet. With the new Class Four and Five curriculum, the lab would help in their research and assignments. The lab is for the benefit of the entire school,” she said.
She revealed that next year the school would be piloting Mandarian language studies.
“This is a Ministry of Education incentive and we have been chosen as one of the schools to pilot the project.”
Ms Kuruleca said the main objective of the fun day yesterday was for families and friends of the Veiuto community to come together and fundraise.
She said the management was thankful to all those who had contributed.
