Twenty-two inmates from the Suva Corrections Centre have graduated from a Spiritual Encounter Programme (SEP).
The three-week course was conducted by Pastor Joe Bola of the Wings of Hope ministry.
Pastor Bola said he had a passion to help inmates.
He began his ministry with his wife in 2002.
He said the course was to spiritually transform inmates and to discover the purpose of their lives.
The course for some was their first and was certainly a memorable one.
Ghana national and inmate, Vincent Boakye testified that he became a changed man after taking up the course.
“After this course I have learned to be humble. I will be an agent of change to my fellow brothers and sisters back from where I came,” Mr Boakye said.
“When I get out, I will tell them that Jesus is the way.”
Principal Corrections officer Eroni Raitamata, who was chief guest at the graduation ceremony, encouraged the inmates to be positive.
He reminded them to think seriously about their future and what they would do after leaving prison.
