A post-mortem will be held today on the body of a man who collapsed and died while walking along Wailekutu Bridge in Lami on Saturday morning.
Police spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said Apisai Bati Lawrence Tuivunilagi, was walking on the bridge with a relative at about 5am when he collapsed.
Inspector Sokomuri said Mr Tuivunilagi was pronounced dead on arrival when he was rushed to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital. This was also confirmed by a relative who said her brother was walking with Mr Tuivunilagi when the incident happened.
The relative said Mr Tuivunilagi, 41, was returning home after death-related ceremonies for her late mother whom they had buried on Thursday.
Mr Tuivunilagi is survived by his four daughters.
