Police have taken in some players and soccer fans for questioning over the trouble that broke out during the Courts Inter-District Championship final at Govind Park in Ba last Sunday
Assistant Commissioner of Police Ravi Narayan confirmed this yesterday and said they had released them but investigation are continuing and they are focussing more on identifying people who were allegedly throwing objects.
“Our main focus now is to identify people who were throwing objects such as bottles and stones as these are a dangerous thing to do,” he said.
“We are gathering evidence and our aim now is to identify all those who were part of this scene.”
ACP Narayan is urging the public to help with them in the investigation if they have evidence.
“If they have seen people who were throwing objects they should come and inform us,” ACP Narayan said.
