The Nadi Police Pro-Active Community Policing campaign was shifted to Nabila Village in Nadi yesterday.
The approach was led by the deputy divisional police commander West, Superintendent of Police Simione Bale, which was done in collaboration with the various unit teams consisting of Police officers, sexual offence unit, crime unit and traffic.
The pro-active approach is conducted to ensure people maintain law and order in the country and discuss issues affecting the community. People are encouraged to discuss problems affecting them with the officers and finding suitable solutions to the problems.
Police spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said: “This approach is to create general community awareness and see the well- being of the community.
“The group has visited many areas in Nadi and had realised that this campaign was really effective. It improves public and Police interaction and also brings unity and community safety” he said.
