A 19-year-old was given a suspended sentence by the Suva Magistrates Court after he was found guilty of burglary and theft.
Marika Rakai, who entered an early guilty plea broke into the Vatuwaqa Automotive Services premises on September 11 this year and dishonestly appropriated two 20-metre lead wires worth $120, 14 car condenser evaporators valued at $1800 and a Sony DVD player costing $700.
While sentencing Rakai, Magistrate Sufia Hamza took a starting point of nine months for burglary and six months for theft.
Rakai was sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for three years and was ordered not to re-offend during the period or face a one-year jail term.
